There are two scenarios that might worry you:
- The map seems to be missing the destination point.
- The map seems completely empty except for the destination point.
In the first case, the gym exists. The map doesn’t show it because it’s spawned on the edge of a chunk. You just need to explore thoroughly to find it.
In the second case, it could be that the gym is located in a chunk where there is no water, or simply that the chunk hasn’t been loaded yet.
Additionally, there’s another case, but here you can use your intuition. If the map doesn’t load and a red message appears in the chat saying that nothing was found within 10,000 blocks, you probably need to move at least 2,000 blocks in one direction.
